Planning an outside wedding wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. It turns out that it was a lot cheaper in cost than it would have been to have an indoor wedding. Since we had the flowers and mother nature everywhere, I didn’t have to spend a lot of money on decorations. I checked out a lot of places to have our summer wedding and reception. I thought about a super beach wedding and reception, or maybe have it in a gorgeous garden, but I decided to have our ceremony and reception in the park. I was surprised at all the parks available for weddings.
I decided to go online and get some expert advice on how to plan the perfect outdoor wedding. When you plan to be married in the great outdoors, it seems you have to have a backup plan just in case the weather turns from sunny to pouring buckets. So we arranged to have a tent set up to move the ceremony into if necessary, just as a precaution.
We had canopies arranged for our reception and barring bad weather, planned to be wed under a lovely trellis. I only had to get decorations for my bridal table and the reception tables for our friends and family. With the park as our main theme, I basically had to make sure I had our table settings and maybe throw in a few extra bouquets of flowers. By using artificial flowers I thought we may be able to avoid any univited guests, like bees. The only way you could tell that the flowers were artificial, was by touch, they were beautiful. Planning this wedding wasn’t all that hard, but there was a little more than I expected. Even though some summer wedding ideas are fantastic, the heat can totally destroy your gorgeous wedding cake.
There was a variety of accessories available for the outdoor reception. As centerpieces for our reception tables I used citronella votive candles and place them in glass globes with flowers around them, and used park bench place card holders for each guest. I found very decorative favor boxes and used them to package the chrome bottle openers we bought for our friends and family as a summer favor. For our wedding table, of course, was our fabulous wedding cake with a very unique wedding cake topper.
I found it while browsing online for my other wedding accessories, and fell in love with it. They do customizing for the bride and groom. They put our faces on our cake topper, and all I had to do was send them a photo of me and my fiance. Talk about the best wedding keepsake you can get. Our friends and family were really loved the cake topper and gave us a lot of compliments on it. Everything I ordered for our ceremony and reception was the best in wedding accessories, especially our crystal champagne flutes and silver cake serving set. It’s unbelievable all the lovely accessories you can purchase from you computer.
Everything at the wedding and reception were fantastic. Thank goodness the weather stayed perfect throughout the entire ceremony and reception and we never had to put plan B into action. We had a wonderful DJ that I’m sure, kept the music going long after we left for our honeymoon. A lot of good things were said about our wedding ceremony and everyone said they had a fantastic time at the reception. The park turned out to be the perfect place to have our wedding and reception. I’d love to do this again and have a wedding renewal in the park, maybe for an anniversary, someday.
