Unbelievable Mikasa Favors

Filed under: wedding articles — Algy @ 11:38 pm

I went to a wedding last week where they had mikasa crystal accessories on all of the reception tables. They had mikasa weddings and mikasa crystal glassware on every reception table. The bride decorated her whole wedding and all the reception tables with such excellent taste. The tables just shined with lustre and elegance with all the different mikasa accessories.
The place cards rested on the tails of these very beautiful little silver doves. Her centerpieces were quite lovely too and really helped to bring out the ambience of all the accessories she had decorated the tables with. A beautiful floral arrangement was placed around pillar candles as the centerpieces. They gave out fantastic party favors for everyone at the reception. Each one of us received beautiful mikasa crystal wedding favors. The favors boxes with the little thank you hang tags was almost as gorgeous as the mikasa crystal favors that were inside.
Their wedding cake was another spectacular sight to behold with five layers of luscious chocolate with chocolate cream cheese in between each layer. She topped the wedding cake with a very exceptional wedding cake topper. Since she ordered most of her wedding supplies and decorations from an online wedding store, she decided to check out the cake toppers too, and found out they customize wedding cake toppers. All she had to do was send in a couple of head shots of her and her fiance and they customized bride and groom figurines that look exactly like the happy couple. They did a fantastic job capturing the faces of the bride and groom. I had to find out where she ordered her wedding accessories from, the cake topper would be great for my mom and dads’ renewal wedding for their anniversary.
I think one of the funniest part of this whole thing was when it was time for the garter toss. Watching the looks on the guys faces as the groom removed the garter from the brides leg, was priceless. All of them were reaching and pushing into each other with the sole objective of being the one to take home the brides garter. What was really funny was that the winner of the garter toss was talked into participating by the other guys and he was a widower in his 70’s. There was a big smile on the old mans face as he walked off with the garter in his hand.
For the bridal toast we all had crystal champagne flutes, that we were also given to take home, with the names of the bride and groom, and date of the wedding printed on them. After the best man said his speech and we toasted the bride and groom, it was time for their first dance together as man and wife. They made such an elegant couple as they danced across the dance floor. The floor quickly filled up with couples right after the wedding couple finished their first dance. I think I over extended myself on the dance floor, my feet ached so badly.
Then it was time for the happy couple to leave the reception and begin their honeymoon, so everyone was yelling good bye and good luck. I found out from one of the other guests that they were going to Hawaii for their honeymoon. They’ll have a honeymoon to equal this fabulous wedding and reception. The rest of us partied until we couldn’t party no more.
It was only a couple of weeks later that I got my thank you card from the happy couple thanking me for sharing their wedding day with them and for the wedding gift I bought for them. She must have sent out her thank you cards as soon as she got back from her honeymoon. By the way, I did find out how she could afford a mikasa wedding favor and that fantastic cake topper. So today, I’m placing my order for the special cake topper and other accessories for my parents special renewal ceremony and reception.

The Nicest Wholesale Jewelry Boxes on the Market!

Filed under: wedding articles — Algy @ 11:15 pm

Jewelry boxes sure are’t what they used to be; now, there are watch jewelry boxes, earring jewelry boxes, and about any other kind of specialized jewelry box you can think of. The boxes can be designed in a wide variety of ways. For her wedding day, my daughter got her bridesmaids jewelry boxes, and one for herself as well. That was just the beginning of what I discovered while surfing the web for gift ideas. No matter what look your going for at your wedding, a specific theme or a more customary look, you’ll find loads of suggestions there. Prince Charming and his lovely princess was the theme that my daughter and her fiance went for. She really did look like Cinderella at the ball in her lovely wedding gown and long veil, and I must admit my son in law looked just as good as Prince Charming in his stunning tux. It really was a beautiful wedding. After the ceremony was over my daughter and son in law left the church in grand style with a horse drawn buggy and a driver dressed in a top hat and tails.
The reception had small white lights to add with the tulle that was draped above and tall flower vases scattered all about the room. An arch with green plants and red and white roses climbing up an arch stood behind the newlyweds’ table, while the wedding guests had at their tables an exquisite bouquet of flowers with sparkles that shimmered silver. She picked out tea light place card holders in the shape of silver doves that made the tables shine even more. Flower and crystals adorned the small jewelry boxes that each lady at the wedding got as a gift. For the men in attendance, a key chain with a frog prince on it was given to them as a wedding favor. The wholesale jewelry boxes for the bridesmaids had black velvet-lined interiors and were made of wood and sliver-plated. The date of the wedding and name of the happy couple were inscribed in the boxes. The thank you gift my daughter gave the girls was very warmly received. It was a box like I used to have, I had no idea it was a cheap jewelry box, it was so expensive looking. The guys all got wine gifts sets with their names engraved on a small plaque. I thought that was pretty unique for a thank you gift.
A tiny castle sitting at the top of the three-tiered wedding cake lent the cake a mystical appearance. The cake knife set and champagne glasses meshed perfectly together with the cake. Many of her decorations and supplies were top of the line, but she came in well below where I had expected on their wedding budget. We offered to pay for the wedding, since we are the brides parents, but they both insisted they could do it themselves.
I cried as I watched them dance their first dance as husband and wife, it looked as if they were the only ones in the room. It reminded me so much of the ball the prince had in the Cinderella story. The guys got so rowdy trying to catch the garter, during the garter toss, that they had me laughing to no end. My baby girl’s fantasies were fulfilled on a glorious wedding day, with all of her close friends and family members to share it with. Now they are on a honeymoon she’s always dreamed of. I can hardly wait for them to get back and tell me all about the fantastic sights they saw.

The Easiest Groomsmen Wedding Gifts on the Internet!

Filed under: wedding articles — Algy @ 10:56 pm

A friend of mine told me about a wedding website that had fantastic wedding accessories and reception supplies at a great low cost, so we checked it out. It’s true, reasonable prices and many accessories to choose from starting with wedding invitations right down to wedding favor gifts. I was surprised at all the great groomsmen gifts and bridemaids gifts they carry, as well as so many styles of wedding accessories for both ceremonies and receptions. Needless to say, that’s where I did all my shopping for the wedding decorations and supplies.
First of all, we decided to have a winter wonderland theme wedding since we were getting married in December, and I found so much to work with. I ordered very decorative winter wedding bulletins to send out as invitations. When I went searching for my flower girls basket and the ring boys pillow I found a wedding set that not only had both those things but also, a guestbook, pen set and a lovely wedding garter too. Not only did each piece match, but the price was more than reasonable. I know, after reading a few wedding articles, that many churches won’t allow the tossing of petals for the bride and grooms departure and many couples have chosen bubbles to be blown as they exit the ceremony. So I ordered bottles of bubbles from this online shopping site I’m using and they also send you little bubble cards for each bottle.
You’d be surprised at the marvelous accessories I bought from there. We also ordered our gifts for the bridesmaids, flower girl, ring boy and the rest of the wedding party. With all the groomsmen gift ideas that my fiance had to choose from, it was hard for him to make up his mind.
He got each of them a mug as their groomsman favors, with the word groomsman printed on it. Now we had a cheap groomsman gift, gifts for my bridesmaids and everyone that was in our ceremony, so now, I needed to concentrate on what to buy for our guests. I had quite a selection of winter themed gifts to pick from for our guests at the reception. The wedding favors I chose were glass winter votive candles with a wintery frosted look for everyone attending the reception. Each candle had nice little silver snowflakes around it. They each came in their own little favor box with a silver hang tag.
The place card holders I chose were beautiful little snow ornaments that the guests can take home as a little momento. There was so much for a beautiful winter wonderland themed wedding, like our cake server set, our champagne flutes and even our funny wedding cake topper. I asked the baker to turn our top layer of the wedding cake into a ski slope, since the topper I picked was of a bride and groom on skis. The cake really turned out nice and I made sure there were lots of pictures of it for my gorgeous winter wonderland wedding album. We cut our cake and shared the first piece, then my brother in law gave a little speech as he toasted to the bride and groom, and then it was time for us to have our first dance of the evening. With all eyes on us as we danced, I felt as magical as a princess in a fairy tale.
Everyone was having a fantastic time and this reception was perfection from beginning to end. The wedding groomsmen gifts and the bridesmaids gifts were a big hit. Some of our friends and family expressed how much they really liked the thank you gifts they received and told us what a spectacular wedding and reception we had.

A Wonderful Bride And Groom Gift!

You get favors and gifts at wedding showers, bachelor parties, and bachelorette parties. Such get-togethers present a fun opportunity to give your almost-married friend a unique gift or two. A number of the gifts my husband and I got were rather remarkable. Of course plain old money works just fine, and that’s what our engagement party gifts consisted of for the most part, but there were a lot of more creative presents as well. Many of the presents we received from our friends and family were small items, like champagne for our wedding, gift cards, sports tickets, and theater tickets. A lot of our loved ones gave us presents, even though it was not required for engagement parties.
My man’s bachelor party must have been fun because he got some funny tee shirts that they made him wear with funny little phrases printed on the front. He got more than one bride and groom gift, including some wine bottles and a sun visor that said ‘Groom’ on it. He came home from the party with an inflatable doll and a ball and chain that he said they made him wear the whole time the party was going on. He got other mock bride and groom wedding gifts besides, that gave them all some laughs. My girls night out party was fantastic too and I got a lot of gag gifts, but also quite a few nice bride gifts too. They gave me a shimmering white satin purse with a clasp made of crystal on it and a ribbon on top to boot. They put a pin and a shirt inside the bag that I had to wear for our night on the town, and there were some make-up and manicure accessories inside as well. They got me a ‘tonight’ pillow that, when you flipped it over, said ‘not tonight’ to go with whatever mood I’m in. It was definitely an unusual and funny throw pillow.
At our wedding reception there were no gag gifts, just very nice bride and groom wedding gifts from all of our friends and family. We did get extras, like a couple of extra toasters, two identical set of dishes, and more waffle irons than we’ll ever need, but that’s par for the course with such a large wedding. We did get some of the things I had written on to our bridal registry, like the china I wanted and the food processor. One of the gifts my husband truly loves is his bar side set, which also included a very nice pool table from his dad and mom. The plane tickets to get to the Greek Isles for our honeymoon came from my folks. Our family and other loved ones really gave us some outstanding wedding presents.
Most of all, our friends and family being at our wedding to share that magical experience with us was the greatest gift. They have shared so much with us, our last night of being single parties, our engagement party, and our wedding and reception. It’s good to know you have so many people that care this much about you and are there for you during the good times and the bad. Having those crazy friends that go all out to give you the best girls night out party or a super cool bachelor party, means a lot too. With friends like that around, your life will be anything but boring. The magnitude of our gratefulness for having them as friends, along with the most fantastic families, just cannot be expressed in something as small as a thank you note.

Adorable, Affordable Duck Baby Shower!

Filed under: wedding articles — Algy @ 9:55 pm

Kids need bathtub toys, and Sesame Street’s Ernie even sang a song about one of the classics, a tune called ‘Rubber Duckie You’re the One.’ It seemed like such a unique idea that I wasn’t sure if there would be enough duck baby shower around to plan a theme around, but I realized what I started looking into it that the idea was more popular than I had imagined. I got so many great ideas over the net, and finding adorable little accessories and supplies to go with a duck baby shower was easier than I had expected. There are a lot of adorable little duck favors and decorations to be found on the internet for baby showers and even toddler birthday parties.
I put tables that could seat four apiece in my basement rec room since that was plenty big enough for this size crowd. I put baby shower gifts in one corner, and then at the opposite end of the den was a table with appetizers, drinks, deserts, and a layered cake in the form of a rubber ducky and the words baby girl written on it. There were posters of Donald and Daisy Duck, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and the rest of the Disney cast all over the place, and the Daisy Duck one was huge.
At each table were little pink picture frames that I used as place card holders and each frame came with a baby duck in the corner. There were duck favor candles at each table too and on the buffet table were paper plates, cups and napkins all with little baby ducks on them and even the punch bowl was unique. I went to a department store and purchased a little duck shaped baby bathtub and placed a glass punch bowl inside. It looked pretty adorable. I found an ice cube tray that made little duck ice cubes, so I put yellow water in them and froze them. I went all out on this duck themed shower.
On the world wide web, I found a bunch of great ideas, and that’s pretty much where I found everything I needed, but I did get a few recommendations from some of the people at my school. On the Internet is where I found duck shower favors, such as the precious rubber duck favor bookmarkers I found, and the duck candles, too. We used them as prizes for the contests we had at the baby shower, and all of the guests adored them.
Before the guests starting arriving I filled a big square container with water and placed little rubber ducks in it. Every duck had a number on the under side of it, and every guest grabbed one duck out of the tub as they walked in. A couple of hours into the shower, I picked a number out of a jar, and the person with that numbered duck received an award. We had a lot of fun with the guess the baby picture game, too. I hung a baby photo of every guest who brought their baby picture along on a bulletin board. Each guest got a chance to check out the board and see how many pictures they were able to match up with the faces of the other guests. The one with the most correct matches won a prize.
We had a lot of fun, great laughs and the mother to be got some really neat gifts for her little girl. I’m so glad I found this idea for the baby shower online. I didn’t know how it would all come together, but it all worked out very well in the end. The idea of centering it around ducks made for an absolutely adorable theme.

8 Hour Shot Battles 5 Hour Energy!

Filed under: wedding articles — Algy @ 9:14 pm

In a time where Americans will drive the extra mile to save a few pennies on fuel, there is a booming new energy drink category that goes for 20 times more per-oz than Coke – the energy shot.

More and more people are turning away from $3 coffee, in favor of $3 2 ounce shots of solid caffeine – and most of them taste disgusting.

The demand for energy shots is expected to double this year, reaching $700 mil in sales – and Living Essentials will likely be responsible for over 80% of those sales, as they created the original product – the 5 Hour Energy drink.

Several companies are already following in 5 Hour’s footsteps – products like 6 Hour Power, Fuel 7 Hour Energy, and Mr. Energy 8 Hour Energy are all competing to tap into the energy shot world.

8 Hour Energy, though the name is similar, has taken the industry a few steps further. In addition to caffeine, it includes Acai, Gogi, and Tahitian Noni – three incredibly popular berries, each known for their natural energizing and dietary benefits. Usually, these berries can only be attained by purchasing a $40 bottle of juice.

On top of everything, 8 Hour Energy contains no calories or carbs, and it tastes great!

“I’ve seen the 5 Hour ads plastered all over the media. But if people read the labels before they buy, I think they’ll go for 8 Hour Energy. It’s just a better quality product,” says Darin Steen, one of the top 10 health and fitness trainers in the world.

In a double-blind taste-test, 9 of 10 college students preferred 8 Hour Energy over 5 Hour Energy. Other test-groups were given free samples of the Mr Energy 8 Hour Energy shot, and returned with rave reviews.

“Wow… after taking the 8 Hour Energy, not only was I able to stay up to study for finals, I picked up a basketball game after! Without it, I probably wouldn’t have managed to do either,” laughed Troy Smith, a senior majoring in Finance.

“The 8 Hour Energy shot is amazing. I stayed energized and focused, and totally aced my final. It’s like time in a bottle,” said Stephanie Wilcox, a grad student in the UF School of Dentistry.

Despite 5 Hour Energy’s 60 million dollar advertising budget, Bhelliom Enterprises, 8 Hour Energy’s developer, is confident their product will succeed due simply to its superior ingredients. “The ingredients speak for themselves,” says CEO of Bhelliom Enterprises, Casey McCarthy.
